A night like this by Julia Quinn

My rating:

A night like this – Julia Quinn, Smythe-Smith Quartet #2

A night like this is the second book in the serie about the Smythe-Smith Quartet, written by Julia Quinn.

All the unmarried ladies in the family of Smythe-Smith plays in the family’s music quartet and perform during the family’s annual concert. It dosen’t matter if you are a skilled musician or not, you still need to be a part of the quartet. The only way to be released from the duty is to get married.

The second book, A night like this, is about Daniel Smythe-Smith. He is the Earl of Winstead and he had to flee England due to a failed duel. When he finally receives a promise that it is safe to return to England, he returns without telling anyone and sneaks in to the family house where the annual concert is held during that evening. From his hidden place, he watches the concert and sees a woman that is not a family and she is playing in the concert. For Daniel it is love at first sight when he sees Anne Wynter, the governess of his cousins.
An Earl and a governess. Is it possible?

This book is really entertaining. So much better than the first book in the serie. Highly recommend this story.
