The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy – Julia Quinn, Smythe-Smith Quartet #4

The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy is the forth and last book in the serie about the Smythe-Smith Quartet, written by Julia Quinn.

All the unmarried ladies in the family of Smythe-Smith plays in the family’s music quartet and perform during the family’s annual concert. It dosen’t matter if you are a skilled musician or not, you still need to be a part of the quartet. The only way to be released from the duty is to get married.

The forth book, The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy, is about Iris Smythe-Smith. She is a sharp observer, intelligent but not the kind of woman who attracts a lot of suiters. Because of this she is suspicious when Sir Richard starts to show interested in her directly after he has been attending the annual concert. He starts to court her right away and even if they are enjoying each others company, she cannot shake off the feeling that something is out of place. After just a couple of weeks of being aquatinted, Richard proposes and kiss her, which is seen by her aunt. Iris finds herself in a compromised situation and the only solution is a hasty marriage.

This book has a moral dilemma. I cannot tell you more without spoling so you just have to read the book. It will be worth your time! Maybe the last book in the serie about the Smythe-Smith is the best one.
